Jazz has never been so elegant

As a jazz vocalist known for adding a sultry tone to the classics, Tatrina Tai has wowed audiences across Western Canada for more than a decade. Able to perform alongside small groups and big bands, Tatrina tailors her talents to suit any occasion.

Raised in Saskatoon, Tatrina mixes classical vocal techniques with a passion for jazz to create a unique and sultry sound that you simply can't forget.

You can find Tatrina performing at large jazz music festivals and intimate corporate events. Some of her accomplishments include:

  • Collaborating with award winning DJs and electronic music artists

  • Performing at conferences, private parties and corporate events

Tatrina has a wonderful voice that will simply light up any room. We recently had her perform at my annual Charity Christmas Concert (in support of the Veterans’ Food Bank) with over 1,000 attendees. Everyone was blown away by her energetic stage presence and talented vocals. She is a great performer and I will definitely welcome her back for future events.

Tatrina is another example of the tremendous musical talent that comes out of Saskatoon. She lights up any room with her combination of musical prowess and dynamic personality. This woman is going places.
— Charlie Clark, Mayor, City of Saskatoon
Tatrina Tai is a vital voice in the Saskatoon entertainment scene. She is a dynamic soul & jazz performer and reminds me of the vocal greats from Billie Holiday to Andra Day. Tatrina readily adapts to our conferences and event requirements, even singing Oh Canada in English and French! Best of all - she’s lovely to work with. Tatrina is also the face of WhiteHot Smile.
— Karen Turner, Owner, Turner Event Management & WhiteHot Smile
Seductive and sweet, Tatrina Tai is a remarkable interpreter of songs and song writing. Tatrina’s beauty and elegant voice carry through a room giving you chills as you enjoy each irresistible moment.

I hire Tatrina for all my events because I know she can fit the sound I am looking for - whether it be music during cocktail hour at a fundraising gala, or entertainment on the main stage. She is incredibly talented and easy to work with. She knows an array of repertoire and transforms her sound and look to whatever is needed. I would highly suggest Tatrina for your next event!

Tatrina is a gifted former student from my vocal studio. Even after many years since we have actually worked together, I still recognize the tremendous talents she possesses. She is equally skilled at all genres . She possesses a beautiful vocal instrument and sings with passionate connection to her text, engaging totally with her audience. She exudes confidence and comfort on the stage with an innate sense of style.
Saskatoon and surrounding areas have watched this young woman entertain at many city celebrations as well regular guest appearances throughout the city.
She is a natural leader and a compassionate team player. She continues to be a source of pride within my studio and an inspiration to young people.
— Marilyn Whitehead, Vocal Instructor & director of The Saskatoon Fireside Singers
Blessed with operatic training, Tatrina brings the beautiful  voice, the style and the stage presence to every performance. She’s recognized notably within the Saskatoon Jazz Society circles, where she has adapted to singing jazz standards in the company of Maurice Drouin, the piano pro and longtime associate. She’s a standout in Drouin’s Jazzy Christmas which, aside from two performances at The Bassment, will also be staged in two other Saskatchewan cities this year. Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah isn’t a song she does every night but on special occasions, she sings it like she owns it. She’s truly an artist who rises to the occasion.

When I had the pleasure of hearing Tatrina sing for the first time I was thoroughly impressed by the clarity and tone of voice in someone so young. In the intervening years she has added more layers and colours creating a nuanced interpretation of her material Listening to Tatrina is wonderful but you owe it to yourself to catch her live performance and watch her work her magic – taking a standard and making it …. Exceptional.
